Finally

Well,

Things are settling down. We're in Nashville and loving it, our big old house, my school, our new friends, and hot yoga. I'm working on my portfolio and love the lab I've found to develop pictures.

We're lining up the fall play and have auditions for "A Raisin in the Sun" on Monday. I pretty much already know my cast but am giving all a chance to audition. Any brilliant artists out there want to design a poster? The weather is cooling off and I am glad.. it's fall in Tennessee and I'm ready to embrace it!

What a WEEK!!!!!!!!!! It dragged by in the Dell Lab with the kids at school, and LORD! I'm glad the week is over.. Practiced for the step show... it's going to be hysterical! On the 21st. Portraits lined up... oh yah, I'm ADDICTED to MY SPACE.. I am on there now... I love making new friends! My friend is in town visiting his parents and we're going to get together for the glass of red wine that I am going to REALLY enjoy! Everything I say has a exclamation POINT! Portraits this weekend and Moonpie's birthday party on Saturday at the bowling alley.

We're packing.... wish us PINK lIGHT that we will sell the HOUSE!

Peace,
Robin

Is it May yet????

My nephews Birthday party... my neices and my stepdaughter. They just keep GROWING.... I keep telling Holly to stop, but she's got legs like a giraffe now.. i'm already picturing them as teenagers rolling there eyes...

DSW....Love it! I want to talk about shoes today.. I bought three pair for 100.00 bucks. And one was a pair of Clark's. One should never really shop for shoes anywhere else when on a budget.

We're doing a Poetry research paper at school...God give me strength..the kids... is it May yet? And my room is literally 50 degrees.. I don't know what the deal is. Last week it was 89 in there. I'm wearing my new tennis shoes, they're so comfy... Lord... I worked out today too...because you can serve tea off of my ass the way I've been eating lately over the weekends....

A LITTLE LOUDER..........

Oh my God! I'm in the faculty stepshow, it's next Friday and going to be pure comedy because we get to put on a skit at the beginning. i can't wait! I said I wanted to do the shout out at the beginning and they said I sounded country... Hello! I didn't.. Mabye I did... A LITTLE LOUUUDDDDERRR.
Had my observation today. Thank God it was first period and not third or fifth....or 6th. Second is too quiet and 5th is obnoxiously lovingly loud... and 6th forget it, almost 40 kids.. the counselors are out to lunch... I guess on this one!

Have to turn in my resignation and finish my online interview with Nashville, take 6 portraits this month... It's going by so fast. I LOVE IT!
Glad the observation thing is over.. always wants to make me pop a pill or three... on that note.. I'm one of the only teachers NOT on prescription drugs... I found this out at lunch over a FAT margarita one day.
Does American Idol suck this season or what??? Amazing Race is hysterical... and The Apprentice I watch cause there's a Baylor Girl on there. Sic em...

until next time,
A LITTLE LOUDER

Spring is Here and We've Got to sell this House

I'm telling you.... We're so excited about moving to Nashville! but not so excited about OUR REALTOR who let our house expire... we have a new one, Keller Williams, and are having an open house this weekend. My kids are so funny... we did an assignment on Women in History today and they were talking about "The Color Purple". I started quoting "Sophia" "alls my life i håd to fight"
after they stopped laughing hysterically Rosalyn asked me to say something from "Beloved", a scary as hell movie that I didn't know any lines from. Although I love Toni Morrison don't get me wrong. i love to shock my kids, they think because I'm white, that I must've voted for Bush, and I couldn't possible sing the song from "Hustle and Flow" which I did sing the other day while rehearsing for UIL (sorry, but it's on the radio, right?) I mean, it was nominated for an Oscar... and NOW "the color purple", yesterday one of my students asked me if I was mixed, I take it as a compliment ALTHOUGH I think it's because I have a big butt! I've been told I had a sister booty before, by my students.... they hold nothing back, let me tell you!!! HAHAH! I'm proud of my butt! How did I get here from my story about the realtor....so me... now to run off this butt... I must go to the gym....yuck because it's SOOOO HOT right now! and I really need to rehang some of the photos and readjust my furniture so those with no imagination WILL LOVE THIS HOUSE. which is SO cute by the wåy! It's a cottage. that would probably cost 500,000 in L.A. but you can have it here in Ft. Worth for a mere 90,000 bucks! POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING!

Baby Face

How cute is this!!!!!???? She is an angel! Took this for a friend. What a subject.
It's almost spring break and I am thrilled! Heading to Nashville for the week, getting a job while I'm there. So much going on....school...I'm fasting during the day now... it's crazy hard, but seems to be working! It's not like I'm a Muslim, but my friends are and I'm adopting the "find yourself through fasting" for 30 days, holiday. Ramadan....is that the one? It takes such discipline. It really does make you examine who you are, instead of masking it with that vat of macaroni and cheese, which is what I like to do... Hmmm... wonder when people are going to come from miles around to examine my blog. I love reading others... one's like a soap for me. I'm hooked. It feels rather voyeristic. eavesdropping on people's lives...hence the memoir, the blog. I'm reading "In Cold Blood", no connection to anything I'm talking about but I do want to see Capote and I just ran across the book in some dark corner of the library while I was there with my ESL reading class. Someone said "Is there a book on diseases?"" Anything to get them to read... I'm like "sure over here, and then I spotted it." It's fascinating really. And even more bizarre is how the town is practically a shrine to the murders. I talk like I won't drive through there myself the next time I'm in Kansas. My mother -in-law is from an area close... It's devastating what happened to that family. And I don't even know why yet, I'm on page 100.
I can't put it down. Capote was a great writer.
